The Leap is the strongest Aimpoint Micro T-2 Quick-Detach mount we've ever tested.
We tested a variety of quick-detach mounts on a digital test stand capable of exerting up to 1500lbs of force. We then used this data to refine our original Aimpoint Micro T-2 mount design, culminating in the LEAP; a quick-detach mount that is both the lightest and strongest on the market today.
A highly efficient clamp design guarantees precise operation and unprecedented rigidity: It features an oversize hooded thru-hole to buttress the thumbscrew's shank, which is the maximum possible diameter to fit a Picatinny channel. A pair of hardened steel precision ground pins is press fitted to the clamp and act as guides.
During its development, the Leap mount was subjected to dozens of stress tests before a single prototype was ever made. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) helped extract every bit of performance from every gram of material. This cutting-edge design process has resulted in the most efficient mount design possible.
Every Leap mount is CNC machined from 7075-T6 Aluminum billet, which has vastly superior mechanical properties to 6061-T6, and is used where ultimate strength and durability outweigh cost considerations.

ClickDrive is a tool-free quick-detach system that self-adjusts to any MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, making it a breeze to move your optic from rifle to rifle. Its low-profile thumbscrew and low-friction telescoping clamp require only the torque from your bare hand to securely attach the mount onto a rail. An integrated spring-loaded ball-detent exerts enough force against the crown to make it completely recoil proof. Since ClickDrive is a timed system, return-to-Zero is guaranteed as long as the same person takes it on and off.

From its introduction in 2014, the original Low Drag Mount featured our recoil proof ClickDrive® Quick-Detach mechanism, a precision telescoping clamp with world class return-to-zero, and a CNC machined base with the industry's highest strength-to-weight ratio, all while being as low-profile as a fixed bolt-on mount.
In 2015, the second-generation Low Drag Mount became the first Quick-Detach mount ever to be CNC machined from 7075-T6. Its external edges were rounded to minimize stress risers, the thumbscrew was Black Nitrided, and a pair of integral shear lugs was added to the clamp to further improve lateral impact resistance.
Today, the Leap mount features our strongest base with a forward lean to provide more room for magnifiers, and chamfered side pockets for improved thumbscrew access. The re-designed clamp has discreet hardened steel pins and a stopper to indicate when it's sufficiently open to clear a Picatinny rail.

I discovered this mount while checking reviews for the Aimpoint T2.(mrgunsandgear video)I liked the look. I checked the Scalarworks website and and was quite pleased to see they had the bundle available for a better price than I had seen anywhere else for this particular bundle.I ordered on 3/3 and on 3/5 it was at my door. First thing I noticed was how nicely the finish on the LDM matches the finish on the T2, and of course the flush mounted thumbscrew. Between the first class customer service and the quality of the product I could not be happier.

After watching Mr.gunsngear’s Aimpoints T2 micro review on YouTube I noticed that the mount he was using was clean and very low profiled. So after doing some mount comparisons with respectable competitors I went with the winner, the Scalarworks LDM100. Couldn’t be happier with this mount, one of the most impressive parts of the mount is how fast & easy it can be installed or removed from the rail. My next mount purchase will be Scalarworks mount for the Trijicon MRO.

Saw the videos from Travis Haley and Larry Vickers and thought those look pretty damn good. With tier 1 guys running them & “zero hold” claims I decided to research em a bit further and then order one for my Aimpoint T1. Purchased a 1/3 lower LDM for my 14.5″ BCM lightweight competition gun. Got it mounted and headed to the range to zero the gun (50yd zero). With the gun zero’d and after about 100rds sent down range I decided to pull it off and mount on my 11.5″ to play around and check zero. Most rounds sent hit slight low/left. Re-installed on the 14.5″ and confirmed zero. She was dead on and I was very surprised! Awesome quality lightweight mount with a rock solid zero! Just received 2 more for my other guns!
