The Leap is the strongest Aimpoint Micro T-2 Quick-Detach mount we've ever tested.
We tested a variety of quick-detach mounts on a digital test stand capable of exerting up to 1500lbs of force. We then used this data to refine our original Aimpoint Micro T-2 mount design, culminating in the LEAP; a quick-detach mount that is both the lightest and strongest on the market today.
A highly efficient clamp design guarantees precise operation and unprecedented rigidity: It features an oversize hooded thru-hole to buttress the thumbscrew's shank, which is the maximum possible diameter to fit a Picatinny channel. A pair of hardened steel precision ground pins is press fitted to the clamp and act as guides.
During its development, the Leap mount was subjected to dozens of stress tests before a single prototype was ever made. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) helped extract every bit of performance from every gram of material. This cutting-edge design process has resulted in the most efficient mount design possible.
Every Leap mount is CNC machined from 7075-T6 Aluminum billet, which has vastly superior mechanical properties to 6061-T6, and is used where ultimate strength and durability outweigh cost considerations.

ClickDrive is a tool-free quick-detach system that self-adjusts to any MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, making it a breeze to move your optic from rifle to rifle. Its low-profile thumbscrew and low-friction telescoping clamp require only the torque from your bare hand to securely attach the mount onto a rail. An integrated spring-loaded ball-detent exerts enough force against the crown to make it completely recoil proof. Since ClickDrive is a timed system, return-to-Zero is guaranteed as long as the same person takes it on and off.

From its introduction in 2014, the original Low Drag Mount featured our recoil proof ClickDrive® Quick-Detach mechanism, a precision telescoping clamp with world class return-to-zero, and a CNC machined base with the industry's highest strength-to-weight ratio, all while being as low-profile as a fixed bolt-on mount.
In 2015, the second-generation Low Drag Mount became the first Quick-Detach mount ever to be CNC machined from 7075-T6. Its external edges were rounded to minimize stress risers, the thumbscrew was Black Nitrided, and a pair of integral shear lugs was added to the clamp to further improve lateral impact resistance.
Today, the Leap mount features our strongest base with a forward lean to provide more room for magnifiers, and chamfered side pockets for improved thumbscrew access. The re-designed clamp has discreet hardened steel pins and a stopper to indicate when it's sufficiently open to clear a Picatinny rail.

Using this mount on a SIG Romeo 5 and it is exceptional. Holds zero just like the video showed and Its solid as a rock once mounted but easily removed, what more could you ask for. Starting a new build so I will be back for the MRO COMBO. Get One!!

After several months of hard use, I can honestly say I will only be purchasing Scalarworks mounts for my red dot sights from now on. I never review products, but this is one deserving of praise.
The Scalarworks mount is most remarkable to me in the fact that its very existence is an unlikely phenomenon. From a design standpoint- common knowledge is that gear comes with pros and cons, with positive and negative trade-offs. They say you can’t have lightweight without sacrificing strength, you can’t have strength without it being heavy, or if you manage to find something that is both lightweight AND robust, it’s going to be unaffordable. The Scalarworks LDM manages to bend the rules by being unbelievably light, incredibly strong, and yet it is still sold at an affordable price. Needless to say, I am beyond impressed…
…and I haven’t even gotten to the best part yet.
I am a USMC Veteran and a current Law Enforcement Officer. I can break and abuse equipment with the best of them. I don’t like “extra” on my rifles. I don’t have an affinity for bells and whistles and as a rule I have always preferred a fixed mount for an optic because I don’t like extra parts, pieces, gadgets, or gizmos sticking off my rifle. I recognize the importance of a quick-detach mount for an optic but have never use them because I prefer the streamlined, bombproof, and simplistic design of fixed mounts that you can rely on.
Yet despite all that, here I am. The Scalarworks LDM is the first QD mount I have found that meets my own criteria for hard use and after testing several, it was the only product that managed to persuade me to use a QD mount at all. Not only is it light, strong, and affordable, but it has a user-friendly and unique system that outperforms other mounting methods while maintaining a repeatable return to zero if you take it off. And it does all this while (in my opinion) managing to still look better than all of the other mounts on the market.
Anyone interested in a QD mount needs to ditch the levers, clamps, and other methods and try out the Scalarworks system.
Likewise, anyone interested in a fixed mount should also try the LDM as they will be pleasantly surprised to know that it is the only QD mount that retains all the benefits of a fixed mount.
For lack of better words, when I recommend this product to people I find myself explaining it by saying that it’s essentially a tool-less, quick-detach fixed mount.
I was inspired to write this review after returning to the website earlier this morning and ordering my *second* LDM + Aimpoint T-2 bundle to go on another rifle. I was pleasantly surprised when halfway through typing this review, I just received my shipping shipping notification via email for the second order. That was quick!

So I decided to try scalarworks. I purchased the T2 bundle. Very professional company. Excellent shipping. But hears the thing. I never write reviews unless I am satisfied beyond belief. We’ll hear I am. This optic bundle is amazing. Tried it on a sig 556 R and a AR pistol. Both co witness absolute perfectly with no adjustments. Very impressed! Then the proof was this weekend. I printed the aimpoint targets to sight in the t2. No need for them. totally calibrated from 50 to 200 yards from scalarworks. I was shooting empty shot gun shells on top of a beer bottle at 100 yards. I can’t say enough the quality of the mount and the optic. Thank you scalarworks for a precision job. Made me smile at the shooting range could not miss!! Why don’t you make a matching mount for the aimpoint magnifier! I’d buy one.

Purchased the Aimpoint Micro T2 bundle and could not be more pleased. This is a fantastic product combination. The transaction was superb. Purchased this bundle recently and all I can say is that the mount and optic are awesome. Having owned all of the other major brand mounts I can say that I hands down like this one the best. The mounting system extremely light and very easy to use. While I haven’t had the opportunity to beat on it yet I have no doubts that I will hold up just as well as any other mount on the market. To top it all off Scalarworks has amazing customer service and fast shipping. All of my optics and mount will be coming from here from now on. Hopefully they will expand their line to traditional scope mounts!
