We benchmarked all of the top quick-detach mounts on a digital test stand capable of exerting up to 1500lbs of force. We then used this data to refine our Aimpoint Micro T-2 mount design, culminating in the LEAP; a quick-detach mount that is both the lightest and strongest on the market today.

A highly efficient clamp design guarantees precise operation and unprecedented rigidity: It features an oversize hooded thru-hole to buttress the thumbscrew's shank, which is the maximum possible diameter to fit a Picatinny channel. A pair of hardened steel precision ground pins is press fitted to the clamp and act as guides.

The LEAP mount lets you shoot at your very best by eliminating snag hazards and putting nothing in the way of weapon manipulations. With its industry leading ClickDrive quick-detach mechanism, the Leap mount is symmetrical, protruding less than 7mm from either side of your Picatinny rail.

ClickDrive's low-profile thumbscrew and low-friction telescoping clamp require only the torque from your bare hand to securely attach onto a rail. An integrated spring-loaded ball-detent exerts enough force against the crown to make it completely recoil proof.

    Although this is just about the most expensive mount for the T2, it’s TOTALLY worth it. I was skeptical that what is essentially a ratcheting thumbscrew would be better than a quick detach lever. I’ve used both and am convinced that the thumbscrew is WAY better. The screw feels so good when you turn it, and it cinches the mount down very securely. Attaching and removing the mount is super easy and fast (barely slower than a QD lever). In addition, it feels incredibly sturdy despite how little it weighs. This mount is truly an engineering marvel.

    Not much needs to be said about the T2…it’s about the best mini-RDS you can buy. I bought it through Scalarworks because the price for the combo was way better than buying them separate.

    I really liked that Scalarworks pre-mounts the optic on the mount and includes a card showing that someone did a quality check on the mount and various aspects of the T2. That extra personal touch gave me much higher confidence in this purchase.

    I can’t recommend this mount enough. I have not been this impressed with a product in a while.

    There’s no getting around the fact that it is expensive, but if you are going to pony up for the T2 then I think you’d be crazy to get it anywhere else. When you price the T2 and other mounts compared to the Scalerworks bundle, you are actually saving a lot of money. Plus, it is the best mount in the business. I have this one and the MRO bundle, both great.
