The Leap is the strongest Aimpoint Micro T-2 Quick-Detach mount we've ever tested.
We benchmarked all of the top quick-detach mounts on a digital test stand capable of exerting up to 1500lbs of force. We then used this data to refine our Aimpoint Micro T-2 mount design, culminating in the LEAP; a quick-detach mount that is both the lightest and strongest on the market today.
A highly efficient clamp design guarantees precise operation and unprecedented rigidity: It features an oversize hooded thru-hole to buttress the thumbscrew's shank, which is the maximum possible diameter to fit a Picatinny channel. A pair of hardened steel precision ground pins is press fitted to the clamp and act as guides.
During its development, the Leap mount was subjected to dozens of stress tests before a single prototype was ever made. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) helped extract every bit of performance from every gram of material. This cutting-edge design process has resulted in the most efficient mount design possible.

ClickDrive's low-profile thumbscrew and low-friction telescoping clamp require only the torque from your bare hand to securely attach onto a rail. An integrated spring-loaded ball-detent exerts enough force against the crown to make it completely recoil proof.

I purchased the lower 1/3 mount. Not only did this mount look cool (thanks Papa Thumb), but the quick drive attach/detach system is top notch. So impressive I immediately ordered another one at the 1.93 height for another weapon system. My mom thought it was really cool, and my airsoft buddies chest bumped me until my lungs hurt. My dad still hasn’t showed up to pick me up for his weekend.
All jokes aside…love everything about this mount. Super light weight. Solid construction and material. Looks great. Will be my go to for all future optics. Do yourself a favor and get one, you won’t be disappointed. If you get the 1.93 height it won’t co witness with irons so if you are like me and insist on having irons, run some 45 degree offsets and you’ll be fine.

This product exceeds my expectations. It is built very well and the fit and finish are perfect. It cowitnesses as advertised. Even after the constant vibration of being mounted in a vertical rifle rack in my police patrol vehicle, the mount and optic maintain zero. This is my first quick detach mount and although I have difficulty mounting it in less than three seconds, it is still quick and I prefer the Scalarworks QD locking mechanism over a lever style QD locking mechanism. The strength, weight, and durability of this mount/optic combination are unmatched. For a police patrol carbine in a mix of urban and rural environments, I find this combination ideal. I recommend this product to others and I will buy Scalarworks mounts in the future.
