We benchmarked all of the top quick-detach mounts on a digital test stand capable of exerting up to 1500lbs of force. We then used this data to refine our Aimpoint Micro T-2 mount design, culminating in the LEAP; a quick-detach mount that is both the lightest and strongest on the market today.

A highly efficient clamp design guarantees precise operation and unprecedented rigidity: It features an oversize hooded thru-hole to buttress the thumbscrew's shank, which is the maximum possible diameter to fit a Picatinny channel. A pair of hardened steel precision ground pins is press fitted to the clamp and act as guides.

The LEAP mount lets you shoot at your very best by eliminating snag hazards and putting nothing in the way of weapon manipulations. With its industry leading ClickDrive quick-detach mechanism, the Leap mount is symmetrical, protruding less than 7mm from either side of your Picatinny rail.

ClickDrive's low-profile thumbscrew and low-friction telescoping clamp require only the torque from your bare hand to securely attach onto a rail. An integrated spring-loaded ball-detent exerts enough force against the crown to make it completely recoil proof.

    The mount is JUST AS IMPORTANT as the optic; it is the connection between your sight window and your firearm.
    I cannot believe how clean and finished this product is. From start to finish of my impression:
    – Packing list/Invoice is clean and legible. Scalarworks logo on the shipping label is a nice touch.
    – I was hoping to get 1 nice sticker to put on my rifle case. Nope; there were 7 or 8 stickers in a separate back in the package! I was laughing at how awesome they were.
    – The product box is one of the nicest accessory boxes I’ve seen (I love magnetic flaps). You open the box to a simple “chip” board instruction manual sitting on top. Clean, easy to read instructions, and in full color!
    – Finally, the mount: It doesn’t come in a zip lock bag…oh no, it comes vacuumed sealed in thick plastic. Oh, and there’s a nice torx bit and screws w/ threadlock in their own bag. Nice!

    Paying $150 for a basic sight mount is a little crazy (admit it). But I will say the quality of the part is unmatched, and the packaging experience made receiving the part special! I will have this mount for the next 20 years. I’m never going to sell it!

    I do have 1 nitpick…. the instructions were sitting on top of the parts and component instead of being at the bottom. I believe the opening experience was super fun, but when you open that special little box, you’re expecting to see the product front and center but instead you see instructions…. Maybe I’m crazy (I do work in marketing), but the expectations and excitement could be maintained through that entire unboxing if you see the part you purchased, front and center, when you open the box. just my $0.02.

    Thank you for a supreme product that really enhances the look and function of my most important tool of defense. Lifetime customer.

    I ordered the Leap/T2 bundle with the 1/3 co witness height. Only have about 500 rounds through my AR with it mounted but I can already tell I really like it. The mount looks great and the packaging by Scalarworks I can say is the best I have ever seen for a product. As a Quality engineer I also really liked the QC check card included of everything inspected before being shipped out. Over all very happy with everything from Scalarworks and will recommend to others.
