The Leap is the strongest Trijicon MRO Quick-Detach mount we've ever tested.
We tested a variety of quick-detach mounts on a digital test stand capable of exerting up to 1500lbs of force. We then used this data to refine our original Trijicon MRO mount design, culminating in the LEAP; a quick-detach mount that is both the lightest and strongest on the market today.
A highly efficient clamp design guarantees precise operation and unprecedented rigidity: It features an oversize hooded thru-hole to buttress the thumbscrew's shank, which is the maximum possible diameter to fit a Picatinny channel. A pair of hardened steel precision ground pins is press fitted to the clamp and act as guides.
During its development, the Leap mount was subjected to dozens of stress tests before a single prototype was ever made. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) helped extract every bit of performance from every gram of material. This cutting-edge design process has resulted in the most efficient mount design possible.
Every Leap mount is CNC machined from 7075-T6 Aluminum billet, which has vastly superior mechanical properties to 6061-T6, and is used where ultimate strength and durability outweigh cost considerations.

I purchased the mount because I’d seen other high profile shooters using them. Plus I figured by coupling it with the proven MRO optic I’d have a winning hand. While I am still waiting for the firearm on which the optic will be used to be being built, I still believe this.
The MRO is light by itself. The LEAP mount adds so little to the overall weight which is a huge benefit. I also got to figure that due to the geometry in the mount’s construction it won’t buckle of break under extreme use. I can’t say enough good things about this mount/optic pair.
The only down side I encountered is the mounting base was not wide enough to use with my chosen firearm. I would associate this issue with the manufacturer of the firearm and NOT Scalarworks. While it is a “pic rail”, it seems to me to be a wee bit thicker than a pic rail found on a forged, mil-spec AR upper.
Either way I am very happy with my purchase and I know I will get a lot of solid use out of it. The purpose of my comments is to make others aware of subtle differences between pic rails on various firearms in the wild.

Very nice mount. Despite just being a thumb screw that holds it to the rail It feels very sturdy and locks up tite. I liked the addition of pre applied loctite to the red dot screws.
