Every Leap mount is CNC milled from 7075-T6 Aluminum billet, which has vastly superior mechanical properties to 6061-T6, and is used where ultimate strength and durability outweigh cost considerations.
Opposing 4mm ball detents acting against Black Nitrided Chromoly steel plates provide ultra positive locking for thousands of cycles.
The Leap has no protruding levers, bolts, or knobs to rap your knuckles, or get caught on clothing, gear, and surroundings.

I bought the Leap/06 flip mount (1.57” version) with Aimpoint magnifier. It has perfect alignment with the Aimpoint PRO that I use. Rugged, well-built. Functions great from what I’ve seen so far. The Ruger backup iron sights I had pushed against the magnifier slightly when flipped out to the side. I upgraded to a magpul pro rear backup sight and that issue is now non-existent. Very satisfied overall.
