Smart Structure
The LEAP/08 base incorporates different structural elements to maximize overall performance.
A large diameter tubular section up front to resist torsion from side impacts, and a very wide I-beam bridge in the rear to resist recoil induced oscillations.
Every Leap mount is CNC milled from 7075-T6 Aluminum billet, which has vastly superior mechanical properties to 6061-T6, and is used where ultimate strength and durability outweigh cost considerations.

A fluted crown requires only the torque from your bare hand to securely clamp the mount onto a rail, and uses the force from a spring-loaded ball-detent to make it completely recoil proof. Return-to-zero is guaranteed as long as the same person takes it on and off.

The fit & finish is excellent. However, the auto leveling screw feature did NOT generate a level scope. I followed the instructions to a T. It was easily 3 degrees off. I had to remove the screw, and level the old fashioned way, with bubble levels. Not likely to purchase another one for my next build.

Our instructions could defintely use some more details with respect to LevelDrive. We are also working on an instructional video that will shed light on some of the nuances of using LevelDrive most effectively.

The weight is excellent, the thumb screws are a nice touch. The leveling screw does not work precisely. I think if the leveling screw was larger, large contact surface area, it would work better. Or perhaps adding a sliver of flat metal to place between the screw and the scope giving a larger surface area to conduct more precise leveling.
