Form Follows Performance
The LEAP/08 base incorporates different structural elements to maximize overall performance.
A large diameter tubular section up front to resist torsion from side impacts, and a very wide I-beam bridge in the rear to resist recoil induced oscillations.
Every Leap mount is CNC milled from 7075-T6 Aluminum billet, which has vastly superior mechanical properties to 6061-T6, and is used where ultimate strength and durability outweigh cost considerations.

The weight is excellent, the thumb screws are a nice touch. The leveling screw does not work precisely. I think if the leveling screw was larger, large contact surface area, it would work better. Or perhaps adding a sliver of flat metal to place between the screw and the scope giving a larger surface area to conduct more precise leveling.

Build quality/durability is fantastic. It is also very aesthetically pleasing. Self leveling screw is great. Light weight too. My only gripe is the price. It’s double or triple the cost most mounts. If you have the cash, it’s a fantastic piece though.

1st I’m OCD to a fault. When I received the combo and started opening the package I couldn’t stop grinning. EVERY element was over done. The exterior box protecting a padded interior for the wrapped Vortex box that was also padded further protecting an airtight bag containing the combo. EASILY mounted to my DDM4, only 3, three round groups and I was zeroed at 50. Rarely do I find myself overly impressed by a business. But I don’t think I could be more impressed by this one and that’s so REFRESHING in this modern time. if just one word — EXCELLENCE !
