Form Follows Performance
The LEAP/08 base incorporates different structural elements to maximize overall performance.
A large diameter tubular section up front to resist torsion from side impacts, and a very wide I-beam bridge in the rear to resist recoil induced oscillations.
Every Leap mount is CNC milled from 7075-T6 Aluminum billet, which has vastly superior mechanical properties to 6061-T6, and is used where ultimate strength and durability outweigh cost considerations.

Mount looks and feels great. Just don’t buy it for the Scar 17. Mount was able to shift on the rail even after being tightened down. Emailed customer service and they claimed this was common on the Scar rail. Surprised this is the case.. even when they advertise this mount on the Scar. Very unfortunate it didn’t work.
Mount was solid on a standard AR15 rail, though. May revisit this or the Leap/08 if I need a mount for another AR15 build.

Sorry to hear you had an issue with your Leap mount on your SCAR-17. Just to be clear; there is nothing inherently incompatible between our mounts and the SCAR-17. The issue is with any rifle with a rail that is out of Mil-Std-1913 spec, which we have anecdotally noticed is more often than some other rifles of late.

Probably the best LPVO mount I’ve ever used. Super light, QD system is awesome like I’ve come to expect from the click drive, and the leveling screw makes life unbelievably easy.

There is so much to like about Scalarworks mounts! Light weight, easy on/off, easy to use leveling screw and now the provision to add an offset RDS! I have bought quite a few different big name mounts in the past and Scalarworks has become my first choice in optics mounts!

Great product as usual. The design is now updated to run with other like mounts that add offset red dots. The hinge also seems to be a better design compared to the previous version; which is good to see as well. Overall I would recommend this to anyone…….but I would like to see some FDE or other anodized mounts in the future
