The Leap is the strongest Aimpoint Duty RDS Quick-Detach mount we've ever tested.
We tested a variety of quick-detach mounts on a digital test stand capable of exerting up to 1500lbs of force. We then used this data to refine our original Quick-Detach mount design, culminating in the LEAP; a quick-detach mount that is both the lightest and strongest on the market today.
A highly efficient clamp design guarantees precise operation and unprecedented rigidity: It features an oversize hooded thru-hole to buttress the thumbscrew's shank, which is the maximum possible diameter to fit a Picatinny channel. A pair of hardened steel precision ground pins is press fitted to the clamp and act as guides.
During its development, the Leap mount was subjected to dozens of stress tests before a single prototype was ever made. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) helped extract every bit of performance from every gram of material. This cutting-edge design process has resulted in the most efficient mount design possible.
Every Leap mount is CNC machined from 7075-T6 Aluminum billet, which has vastly superior mechanical properties to 6061-T6, and is used where ultimate strength and durability outweigh cost considerations.

ClickDrive's low-profile thumbscrew and low-friction telescoping clamp require only the torque from your bare hand to securely attach onto a rail. An integrated spring-loaded ball-detent exerts enough force against the crown to make it completely recoil proof.

Alright people, I’ve had the Aimpoint Duty RDS for about a year. Heard allot of negatives about the height of the sight. My birthday came about on 02/2025 I said you know what I’m getting the scalar leap 10 1.93 why not. I should have got this when I got the sight. It’s the perfect height simple to put together . IT DOES RE ZERO EVERYTIME !!!!!! I looked like an idiot taking the sight off putting it on at the range when I sighted it in . Did that 6 times. IT HELD ZERO!!! This is probably the 1st time a product did exactly what it’s suppose to do no compromises. I was a hater and a doubter of spending money on a sight mount specially this scalar-works, I’m a fool , I eat crow every time I raise my riffle up and my dots right there where it’s suppose to be. I went from 300 round range days to 800 rounds because my neck does not hurt. I’ve had double fission on my back about two years ago and should have got this before that. I’m sold amazing product amazing engineering it’s perfect. So please don’t waste your time and money elsewhere. Get one of these for your red dot or holographic sight your neck will thank you , your training will reflect improvements and your round counts will go up. Not sure if that’s a good thing or not but it’s made shooting my ar fun again.
