We benchmarked all of the top quick-detach mounts on a digital test stand capable of exerting up to 1500lbs of force. We then used this data to refine our Aimpoint Micro T-2 mount design, culminating in the LEAP; a quick-detach mount that is both the lightest and strongest on the market today.

A highly efficient clamp design guarantees precise operation and unprecedented rigidity: It features an oversize hooded thru-hole to buttress the thumbscrew's shank, which is the maximum possible diameter to fit a Picatinny channel. A pair of hardened steel precision ground pins is press fitted to the clamp and act as guides.

ClickDrive's low-profile thumbscrew and low-friction telescoping clamp require only the torque from your bare hand to securely attach onto a rail. An integrated spring-loaded ball-detent exerts enough force against the crown to make it completely recoil proof.

    The price is slightly too high for this product. It should also always be in stock. I can see by the packaging and accessories that if the overhead was reduced, it wouldn’t need to be so expensive. The packaging and accessories are very nice, but it’s not a gold Rolex. The bit does however make it extremely easy to install. I must admit that it is appreciated, especially if the customer happens to have the necessary driver to accommodate the bit.

    I understand the reason for the forward angle to accommodate separate magnifiers. Like it or not, they are unfortunately common now. The angle still isn’t necessary however and it causes an issue of interference with the operation of the charging handle on an HK MP5, SP5, or clone. The forward angle is also a bit esthetically displeasing to me on my particular firearm.

    Lightweight, easy to install and remove. Whether it keeps zero or not has yet to be seen, but I suspect it will. Despite my criticisms, so far, I would still highly recommend this product. I have over 40 years of firearms experience as an enthusiast, collector, armorer, instructor, range safety and gunsmith.
