We benchmarked all of the top quick-detach mounts on a digital test stand capable of exerting up to 1500lbs of force. We then used this data to refine our Aimpoint Micro T-2 mount design, culminating in the LEAP; a quick-detach mount that is both the lightest and strongest on the market today.
A highly efficient clamp design guarantees precise operation and unprecedented rigidity: It features an oversize hooded thru-hole to buttress the thumbscrew's shank, which is the maximum possible diameter to fit a Picatinny channel. A pair of hardened steel precision ground pins is press fitted to the clamp and act as guides.
During its development, the Leap mount was subjected to dozens of stress tests before a single prototype was ever made. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) helped extract every bit of performance from every gram of material. This cutting-edge design process has resulted in the most efficient mount design possible.

Amazing. Just got mine in today and its an amazing feat of engineering. And the weight (or should I say lack thereof) is ridiculous! Folks, if you’re trying to understand how light we are talking about consider this: an unloaded OEM Glock 19 magazine weighs 2.4 oz. The Leap Micro weighs 1.6 oz. Almost a full ounce less than an UNLOADED double-stack, polymer mag. I started picking up random things off my work bench just to compare the weight. Scalarworks are clearly sorcerers.

I bought this optic a couple months ago from Scalarworks, and I have been incredibly impressed by both the optic and the mount. Kudos to Scalarworks for shipping the optic installed to the mount with nylok treated screws to the correct torque. Packaging was nice, and I appreciated the free stickers and lens pen that came included.
The mount attached to my rifle securely and has maintained zero after being removed and reattached multiple times. Very impressive. Unlike some of the competition QD mounts, the Scalarworks mount will not damage your receiver and it is true return to zero.
After owning a couple T2 micros, a Comp M4, and the Comp M5, I feel that any future Aimpoint optic purchases I make will be the Comp M5.
