Scalarworks LEAP Trijicon MRO mount

State of the art Trijicon MRO mounts.

Designed for shooters who want the lightest, strongest, and most compact quick-detach red dot sight mount possible. The LEAP/05 redefines the standard for mounting your Trijicon MRO footprint compatible optic to your AR-15's Picatinny top rail. Available in 1.57” and 1.93” optic heights.

Leap mounts hold and return to zero under any condition. Guaranteed.

Scalarworks LEAP Trijicon MRO mount lightest weight

Engineered to be the lightest Trijicon MRO QD mount, without compromising an ounce of strength.

The LEAP/05 is precision CNC machined from all six sides out of a single piece of 7075-T6 Aluminum billet to ensure the ideal strength-to-weight ratio.

The Leap is the strongest Trijicon MRO Quick-Detach mount we've ever tested.

We tested a variety of quick-detach mounts on a digital test stand capable of exerting up to 1500lbs of force. We then used this data to refine our original Trijicon MRO mount design, culminating in the LEAP; a quick-detach mount that is both the lightest and strongest on the market today.

Scalarworks LEAP Trijicon MRO mount clamp

A highly efficient clamp design guarantees precise operation and unprecedented rigidity: It features an oversize hooded thru-hole to buttress the thumbscrew's shank, which is the maximum possible diameter to fit a Picatinny channel. A pair of hardened steel precision ground pins is press fitted to the clamp and act as guides.

Scalarworks LEAP Trijicon MRO mount FEA

During its development, the Leap mount was subjected to dozens of stress tests before a single prototype was ever made. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) helped extract every bit of performance from every gram of material. This cutting-edge design process has resulted in the most efficient mount design possible.

Scalarworks Leap Trijicon MRO mount 7075-T6 vs 6061-T6

Every Leap mount is CNC machined from 7075-T6 Aluminum billet, which has vastly superior mechanical properties to 6061-T6, and is used where ultimate strength and durability outweigh cost considerations.

Scalarworks LEAP Trijicon MRO mount Low Profile

Quick-Detach with no protruding levers or knobs.

The LEAP mount lets you shoot at your very best by eliminating snag hazards and putting nothing in the way of weapon manipulations. With its industry leading ClickDrive quick-detach mechanism, the Leap mount is symmetrical, protruding less than 7mm from either side of your Picatinny rail.

Scalarworks Leap Scope mount ClickDrive quick-detach system

The world's most efficient quick-detach.

ClickDrive is a tool-free quick-detach system that self-adjusts to any MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, making it a breeze to move your optic from rifle to rifle. Its low-profile thumbscrew and low-friction telescoping clamp require only the torque from your bare hand to securely attach the mount onto a rail. An integrated spring-loaded ball-detent exerts enough force against the crown to make it completely recoil proof. Since ClickDrive is a timed system, return-to-Zero is guaranteed as long as the same person takes it on and off.

The Leap mount is the most deliberate evolution of our original design.

Scalarworks Leap Trijicon MRO Mount generation 1

From its introduction in 2014, the original Low Drag Mount featured our recoil proof ClickDrive® Quick-Detach mechanism, a precision telescoping clamp with world class return-to-zero, and a CNC machined base with the industry's highest strength-to-weight ratio, all while being as low-profile as a fixed bolt-on mount.

Scalarworks Leap Trijicon MRO Mount generation 2

In 2015, the second-generation Low Drag Mount became the first Quick-Detach mount ever to be CNC machined from 7075-T6. Its external edges were rounded to minimize stress risers, the thumbscrew was Black Nitrided, and a pair of integral shear lugs was added to the clamp to further improve lateral impact resistance.

Scalarworks Leap Trijicon MRO Mount generation 3

Today, the Leap mount features our strongest base with a forward lean to provide more room for magnifiers, and chamfered side pockets for improved thumbscrew access. The re-designed clamp has discreet hardened steel pins and a stopper to indicate when it's sufficiently open to clear a Picatinny rail.

Professionally assembled at our factory in Easton, PA. All of our optics are sourced directly from the manufacturer. This is my third Scalarworks’ mount. I became a customer for life after the first one. The machining and coating are perfect. But even more important is the attachment system. Lever throw QD systems inevitably come loose and require torquing back to spec; standard mounts require tools and time. On top of that they have managed to make everything lighter and balance out my guns better. Scalarworks has created a superior tool-free attachment system that will not shoot loose. I have lots of high-quality, expensive mounts from well-known manufacturers that are either collecting dust or are waiting for Scalarworks to make a mount for their particular application. Other repeat customers know what I am talking about. I’m writing this for those on the fence and undecided. Every time I look at their products and see what’s new or what new need I have, I simply remember the old adage, “Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.”

I have been a huge fan of another big name mount for a while (starts with a s and ends with an r) but this has changed my mind. I love the quick release mechanism and the fact that it doesn’t hang off the side like a traditional qd mount. I will be ordering more of these mounts over the next few months
