I bought the 1.93” leap/08 and vortex razor combo package. At a glance, the leap appears to be a hefty mount, but it’s deceptively light weight when you actually pick it up. The leap mount is a very well thought out and well executed design, and I truly appreciate the engineering behind it.
It seems like the fashion of optic mount designs have moved away from quick release, but I am glad scalerworks came up with their clickdrive system. It makes sense to me to be able to ditch your optic without the use of a tool if it’s unusable. I suppose firearms accessories are akin to fashion. I’ve observed the what was old is now new again cycles in the firearms world.
Watch, some influential and brilliant person will one day figure out that having a quick release is advantageous to a fighting firearm and a quick release optic mounts will be the way again. Wash, rinse, and repeat. I digress…the leap is a banger of a mount and I wish I bought one sooner.
